“Earlier this year the Pennsylvania state budget made a number of cuts to a variety of programs including education. The state and municipalities have looked at a variety of ways to increase revenue and might have found a way to increase revenue and public safety at the same time in the form of red light cameras. The cameras document a car running a red light and a ticket is then mailed to the violator. Currently, only Philadelphia is authorized to use the devices in Pennsylvania, but that might be changing soon.”
