To get you started, here’s a quick overview of some of the site’s features and how to use them:

The Category Bar: The blue navigation tabs found at the top of each page highlight a range of different topics. Those category links will change often, so keep your eyes open for fresh content and new Safety Street features.

Featured Carousel: The carousel, located below the category navigation bar, is where you will find the latest research, reports and news stories from NCSR and our partner organizations. Click through the slides to read reports, view videos and see full articles.

E-Newsletter: Submit your e-mail in the “Join Us” text box in the top right-hand corner of the blog to receive weekly Safety Street e-newsletters right in your inbox. The newsletter will provide links to key articles and pull together a selection of the best recent content and features on the Safety Street blog.

State At A Glance: This section, found just below the carousel on the right sidebar, will provide state-specific information and link to NCSR’s state coalition pages. Different states will be featured, pointing out timely industry topics within the state.

Popular Posts: The popular posts section on the right sidebar will always show a handful of editor’s picks and will point you to earlier stories you may have missed. Click on the links to view the full articles.

Twitter Feed: @SaferRoadsUSA shares daily road safety information and connects with a wide range of followers. Now you can see the feed directly imported into this page. Please follow @SaferRoadsUSA on Twitter and join the conversation.

Testimonials: This section on the right sidebar features first-hand testimonials by NCSR advocates sharing their personal stories and encounters with the very real dangers of red-light running. Watch the featured testimonial through the embedded video and click on “See More Testimonials” for all NCSR testimonials.

Categories: This section on the right sidebar will help you navigate through popular tags and categories associated with Safety Street posts and discover content that is of most interest to you.

Social Media Icons: These appear at the top and bottom of each post. If you’re logged into Facebook or Twitter, simply click your button of choice to share the post with your network. Welcome to NCSR’s Safety Street blog — your new home address for road safety!

Safety Street is a dynamic online information center designed to collect, share and analyze new developments in road safety and automated enforcement technology. The blog examines the wide range of issues in transportation safety, with a key focus on the red-light and speed-safety camera industry. It brings together a range of compelling voices and supporting organizations that recognize the importance of road safety awareness.
